1. Tacos
Tacos here are basically oxygen, available all day and absolutely essential. Morning or night, they hit different — that's just Mexican science.
Morning tacos
Start the day the Mexican way: with tacos. These are perfect after a cenote, ruins or just rolling out of bed a little too late.

Taquería Honorio
The legend. Cochinita, lechón, perfect tortillas and amazing juices. Classic Tulum breakfast and my first choice most days.

Comal Francés
Machaca, huevo con chaya, chile relleno. Handmade everything, super homey and very local.

Birria
Lamb birria, rich and hearty. Great for slow, cozy breakfasts when you want something heavier.

Birria's Tulum
Big, cheesy quesabirrias — perfect to share. Messy, comforting, and very worth it.
Night tacos
Night tacos hit different. That's just Mexican science. These are the spots to end the night the right way.

Taquería La Chiapaneca
The classic pastor spot. Super local, super affordable. Sopes and tortas are great too.

La Taquería
Tacos are good, but the real reason to come is the spot itself — and the drinks. Fun, lively and great for a casual night.

La Reyna
Costillita tacos and amazing salsas. Pure street taco energy — great after a night out.

Taquería La Eufemia
Beachfront tacos + margaritas in the Hotel Zone. Touristy but fun when you want sand, music and a casual vibe.
2. Brunch & Cute Cafés
Slow mornings, good coffee, and cute cafés. Start your day right: brunch first, everything else can wait.

Italdo Café Bistro
Best almond croissant in Tulum and super fresh juices. Cozy, bright and perfect for a soft morning.

Del Cielo
Popular spot with solid food and coffee. I prefer more local cafés, but it's still a safe, easy option.

Cara Feliz
Artsy café with books, music nights, a cute vibe and great chilaquiles. Very "Tulum" in a soft way.
3. Seafood
This close to the ocean, seafood is mandatory. Go fresh or go home.
4. Sweet Treats & Dessert Spots
Sweet, pretty, and absolutely necessary. Every Tulum day deserves something sweet.

Pana Chocolatto
Best gelato. Vegan and exotic fruit flavors, plus queso bola — my favorites. Great after-dinner stop.

Marquesitas
Crunchy rolled crepes with chocolate, cajeta or cheese. A Yucatán must. My favorites: cajeta with cheese and chocolate.

Fresh Mango (April–June)
Street vendors sell mango and other fruit as a sweet, spicy treat with Tajín or lime. So simple and so good.
5. Tulum Dinner Gems
Beautiful spaces, refined flavors and an intimate atmosphere — perfect for couples or a chic girls' night.
